STYLE TIPS- 4 Ways To Dress Up A Sweatshirt

DVF sweatshirt {sold out}, Marc by Marc Jacobs leggings {similar}, Ecco belaga cross body bag  and pretoria ankle boots {c/o}

I think the last time I wore a sweatshirt of any type was sometime in the 1990's and it wasn't this flattering or stylish. But lately I have seen such cute ones in the stores so I had to give it a try again. Sweatshirts cannot be worn for all dressy occasions but with a few style tricks you can definitely dress them up for work, a date night, or travel.

My favorite way to style a sweatshirt is with a pair of black leggings and ankle boots. The look is comfortable, casual, and stylish. It's the perfect outit for during the weekdays when I am meeting with clients and running errands around town with Ariyana.

Here are 4 easy and fun ways to dress up a sweatshirt

1. For a casual weekday look pair up a sweatshirt with leggings and ankle boots or flats. This outfit is perfect for running errands, hitting the farmers market, or having brunch with the girls.

2. For work - A sweatshirt is a great alternative to a cardigan-especially in a cold office. Just make sure the sweatshirt is fitted and free of logos. Pair up the sweatshirt with a chambray shirt and pencil skirt or a pair of slim cropped pants, pointy toe pumps, and a statement necklace.

3. For date night-go for a fun sweatshirt with a leather mini skirt and a pair of sexy ankle boots. This would also be a great time to try out a cropped sweatshirt with a pair of high waisted pants.

4. For travel- A sweatshirt is the perfect piece to travel in because it is comfortable and will keep you warm during winter travel.  Go for a cozy and oversized sweatshirt that you can wear with your favorite pair of jeans or leggings. Add a pair of tall boots, colorful scarf, and stylish tote for a polished and comfortable travel look.

This is my new favorite day to night bag. {it comes in black and gray} I wear it crossbody during the day and it even fits my oversized wallet. Then in the evening I tuck the chain in and use it as a clutch.
